– To help ensure future buildings move towards environment friendly methods of design, construction and operations
New Delhi, 19th October, 2020: NAREDCO (National Real Estate Development Council) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GEM (Green and Eco-friendly Movement). GEM is a Green Initiative of ASSOCHAM to create a deeper awareness of the importance of a sustainable lifestyle. It is an indigenous program based upon BEE ECBC 2017 and NBC 2016 and includes Sustainability, Energy and Water Efficiency, Fire and life safety, Indoor Air Quality, Daylight, Fresh Air and Human Comfort.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Rajesh Goel, Director General, NAREDCO and Mr. Pankaj Dharkar, National Chairman, ASSOCHAM Council for GEM in the presence of Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, President, NAREDCO & ASSOCHAM, Mr. Rajeev Talwar, Chairman, NAREDCO and Sr. officials including Mr. Rajan Bandelkar, Mr. Neeraj Arora, Mr. Anil Suri, Mr. Deepak Sood, Mr. Ashok Mohanani, Mr. Rajnish Aggarwal and Mr. Tushar Sogani.
Commenting on the new association Dr Niranjan Hiranandani, National President, NAREDCO said “The objective of the MoU is to exchange information on the latest developments in our respective fields that are of common interest, and jointly work, in particular in the areas of mutual interest to benefit the Real Estate Sector. ASSOCHAM GEM and NAREDCO will jointly develop and promote training and educational programs in sustainability and related fields for and among the members of both organizations.”
It is also worth mentioning that expert faculties for the training programs may be drawn or nominated from the membership base of the two organizations. These programs will be promoted by ASSOCHAM GEM and NAREDCO to create awareness and encourage participation in such programs.
As per the MoU ASSOCHAM GEM & NAREDCO will cooperate in the development and participation in conferences and exhibitions globally which may be mutually beneficial and which would facilitate to strengthen the bonds of national and international cooperation between the organizations and their respective members. Also, the collaboration will mobilize participation of students and members in each other program.
Further throwing spotlight on the association Mr. Rajeev Talwar, Chairman, NAREDCO said, “The collaboration will help promote the co-operation between ASSOCHAM GEM technical committees and NAREDCO technical committees and Task Forces. Also, there will be communication and information exchange between the organizations and their respective members through announcements in journals, websites and other communication modes as applicable.”
This MoU can also be extended basis the mutual consent of both the parties.
